Volvo reveals facelift of XC60 SUV

Volvo introduces the new 2022 XC60 SUV in the international market with a lot of new updates on the inside, mild changes to the exterior, new exterior colour and new upholstery options as well as a leather-free interior option. The brand has announced that the model year 2022 Volvo XC60 will go into production by the end of May 2021. Volvo also revealed that the XC 60 almost reached the 200,000 units sales mark which accounts for nearly 29 per cent of Volvo Cars’ total sales. In the global market, the XC60 is among the top five SUVs and the most popular European mid-size premium SUV in the segment.

Powertrain

The pre-facelift Volvo XC60 in India is sold with a 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune, a 190 Hp and a 235 Hp. However, powering the facelift will be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine in different states of tune ranging from 190 Hp to 310 Hp of power. The brand from 2022 will also be adding electrification to all its powertrains and previously we reported that the company plans to sell only electric vehicles from 2030, bringing the brand to complete carbon neutrality by 2040.

Changes for MY2022 XC60

On the outside, the facelift model features a new design grille, subtle changes to the bumper, a new alloy wheel design and the addition of exterior paint options. On the inside, the new SUV features leather-free options, City Weave textile upholstery, new customisation possibilities, the addition of Volvo’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which consists of an array of radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors to improve the safety of the SUV, active safety systems such as detection of other road users, automatic braking and collision avoidance and Pilot Assist function that provides gentle support to the driver from standstill to highway speeds.

Android-powered infotainment system

The MY2022 XC60 features Google apps and services built into the infotainment system making it smarter than ever before. The infotainment system comes with Digital Services package, hands-free help with Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation, and a plethora of service through the native in-car apps via Google Play.
