Volvo Cars India has launched the new Volvo S90 sedan and XC60 SUV in the new petrol mild-hybrid avatar. Both the Volvo luxury sedan and the mid-size luxury SUV will offer the best global technology to Indian customers. The new launches aim to complete Volvo’s petrol portfolio by the end of the year 2021. The Swedish car company established its presence in 2007 in the Indian market and has been working intensively to capture the luxury car market in the country. Currently, Volvo markets its products through 25 dealerships across India.
The Volvo S90 flagship sedan comes with a price tag of INR 61,90,000 ex-showroom. The brand is offering the S90 with an efficient petrol mild-hybrid powertrain. Interestingly, the Volvo XC60 mid-spec SUV also comes with a price tag of INR 61,90,000 ex-showroom. The brand has revealed that both models will give the brand a head start into the year 2022. Volvo Cars also revealed that the brand will soon launch the new petrol XC90, transitioning into the petrol portfolio.
The Volvo S90 is the brand’s flagship premium 4-door, 5-seat sedan. The S90 is built on Volvo’s advanced modular vehicle platform which is a Scalable Product Architecture (SPA). The Volvo SPA platform has spawned the brand’s strongest Volvo cars to date. This is because of the extensive use of boron steel on the chassis of the vehicle. Volvo Cars also comes with numerous safety systems designed to protect people inside and outside the vehicle.
The Volvo XC60 mid-size premium SUV will come with advanced safety upgrades like Volvo Cars’ latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. The ADAS systems on the XC60 includes an array of radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors. The SUV has also won the Winner of the World Car of the Year title in 2018. Both cars also come with Google Services, Advanced Air Cleaner and Volvo Cars App.
Powering the Volvo S90 B5 Inscription and the XC60 B5 Inscription is a 2.0-litre petrol-mild-hybrid engine. The engine comes with 250 Hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The motor comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a front-wheel-drive on the S90 and an all-wheel-drive on the XC60.
