These include a new front and rear bumper design and a new version of the ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlight DRL. The 2023 model also gets new 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design. The front of the XC40 Recharge also gets a blanked-out grille. Apart from this, the XC40 Recharge looks similar to the regular XC40.
On the inside, the layout remains the same as the 2022 XC40 Recharge and the regular XC40. The 2023 model year of the XC40 gets a new Android-based infotainment screen. Thanks to a built-in e-SIM, users get direct access to Google Maps, Google Assistant and apps from the Play Store. The XC40 Recharge also gets leather-free interiors, an advanced air purifier system and wireless charging. There is also a 600W, 13-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system for music lovers. The XC40 Recharge also gets a host of ADAS features with Level 2 Autonomous driving.
India will get the dual motor “Twin” variant. One motor sits on the front axle and the other on the rear axle, which makes it permanent all-wheel drive. The motors produce 408 HP and 660 Nm of torque. This enables the XC40 Recharge to go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds.
Powering the motors is a 78 kWh lithium-ion battery back. Volvo says it can charge from 0 to 100 per cent in about 2.5 hours using a 50 kW fast charger. It also supports 150 kW fast charging, which takes only 33 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent. According to Volvo, the XC40 Recharge has a 418 km range (as per the WLTP cycle).
