Taking the safety as a priority, Volvo Car India announces that it will cover 100 per cent of its dealer employees under a Covid term insurance policy. Under this term insurance, in the unlikely and unfortunate event of a dealer employee’s death due to Covid-19, the demise’s family will receive compensation up to 10 lakhs.
This term insurance will cover all the dealer’s employees working at Volvo’s 25 dealerships across the country. The second wave of Covid-19 is a massive hurdle to everyone. The number of fatalities keeps on increasing as the country faces a shortage of medical essentials. To provide mental support for its employees, Volvo came up with this term insurance initiative.
Recently, Volvo announced its ‘Contactless Program’, which aims to safeguard the dealer employees. Under this, Volvo India encourages sales through digital channels that will minimise the human to human interaction. Volvo also mentioned that over 50 per cent of its customer inquiries come through these online channels.
As of now, Volvo India has its dealership network in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR – South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Raipur, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, West Mumbai, South Mumbai, Pune, Raipur, Surat, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada and will look to add more in the future. All these dealerships will get the benefit of the term as mentioned above insurance.
To safeguard and encourage vaccination drive, Volvo had earlier announced its plans. The company mentioned that it would pay for the entire Covid-19 vaccination process for all its employees and families. The company had also joined its hands with Ikea and the Bengaluru district authorities to set up a 100-bed Covid Centre. This new facility will come up in two phases and will become fully operational until 30th June.
At the start of this month, Volvo India had also announced its price hike ranging from 1 lakh to 2 lakh. All sales models, including the S90, XC40, XC60 and also XC90, have become costlier. The much-awaited XC40 Recharge will probably hit the Indian roads by October 2021.
