Volkswagen T-Roc Sold Out in the Indian market

In March 2020, German car manufacturer, Volkswagen launched the T-Roc SUV in the Indian market for an introductory price of INR 19.99 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has now announced that the T-Roc SUV has been sold out in the Indian market and further bookings for the same has been closed. 

In the recent past, Volkswagen also announced that the deliveries on the Volkswagen T-Roc were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, as the vehicle was awaiting certification from the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), a principal Testing and Certification Agency notified by Government of India under Rule 126 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. 

The Volkswagen T-Roc features the MQB ‘Modularer Querbaukasten’ (Modular Transverse Matrix) vehicle architecture and measures 4342mm in length, 1819mm in width, 1573mm in height with a wheelbase of 2590mm. On the outside, the T-Roc features a progressive design language and comes with a chrome-accented grille, dual-beam projector LED headlamps, a polygonal peripheral daytime running light around faux air vents on the bumper, flared wheel arches with black claddings, chrome window sills, a coupé style roof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a sharply raked rear windscreen and LED combination taillamps. 

The SUV also features interior highlights such as a 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 26.03 cm fully digital active driver’s information display, control mounted steering, Vienna Leather Upholstery, leather-wrapped gear selector, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof etc. 

Powering the Volkswagen T-Roc is a BS6 emission compliant 1.5-litre TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) EVO petrol engine with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology) that produces 150 ps of power and 250 Nm of torque matched to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. 

The T-Roc also comes with a plethora of safety features such as multiple airbags, front and rear disc brakes, electric parking brakes, electronic stability control, three-point seatbelts on all seats, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a rearview camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorage system etc.
