German motor car manufacturer Volkswagen may bring it’s much popular sub-compact SUV to the Indian market. Showcased at the Geneva motor show in 2014, the Volkswagen T-Roc is designed as an off-roader. The Volkswagen T-Roc made its world debut in 2017. The small SUV is based on the MQB platform and is shared with the Volkswagen Golf and the Audi A3.
The exterior of the car marks a bold design. The front end has large air intakes and the headlights fuse with the grille and there are plenty of chrome accents around it to give it a premium look. The daytime running lights that surround the air intakes are integrated into the bumper and also work as turn indicators. Below the DRLs are the fog lights which are set wide apart on the bumper. The rear profile looks sporty with large diffusers and all LED tail lights.
On the inside, the Volkswagen T-Roc gets a cascading centre console with a large touchscreen infotainment system and three pot dials for climate control. The instrument console is a fully digital display and the upholstery gets a dual tone finish.
In the engine department, the Volkswagen T-Roc is available in these options:
For the Indian market, Volkswagen is likely to use the 2.0-litre diesel and the 1.0-litre petrol engine. The Volkswagen T-Roc measures up at 4234mm in length, 1819mm in width and 1573mm in height and has a 2603mm long wheelbase and comes in a 5-seat configuration.
The Volkwagen T-Roc is expected to come to the Indian market later this year, and if it does, the T-Roc will be priced at around INR 16 lakh to 22 lakh ex-showroom.
