Volkswagen’s all-electric ID.4 gets a new GTX variant adding another chapter in the ID.4 family. The ID.4 already comes with the GTI and GTE labels and the new GTX features a larger power unit and cosmetic changes on the outside and inside.
The new Volkswagen ID.4 GTX features a number of styling elements that help the model distinguish itself from the standard. The GTX comes with a fluid basic design and aerodynamic features. The ID.4 GTX comes with a high-gloss-black grille on the front apron with a cross-weave mesh pattern. The VW ID.4 GTX model also features a black roof with anthracite roof rails and a black spoiler. On the rear, the ID.4 GTX also comes with an X-shaped brake light and a unique insert on the rear diffuser. On the front, the LED lights also appear to get new inserts. The new model also comes with GTX badging on the tailgate as well as the gills.
The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX comes with a bespoke interior colour scheme. The cabin features a dark blue dashboard with red contrasting inserts, leatherette doors and red ambient lights. The control mounted flat-bottomed steering wheels also gets a GTX badge. The GTX badging continues on the sporty seats as well. The ID.4 GTX also comes with a diagonal 12-inch touchscreen display with natural voice control.
The car also comes with features such as ID. Light as standard. The ID.4 GTX is also available with the optional augmented reality head-up display. Connected features include Discover Pro navigation system, We Connect Start online services and IQ. Drive assist. The new electronics platform also allows customers to regularly download updates for the vehicle. Volkswagen also offers IQ. LIGHT LED matrix headlights, LEDs in the intake grille and innovative 3D LED tail light clusters, as standard.
Powering the Volkswagen ID.4 has one electric drive motor on both the front and rear axle that produces a combined output of 220 kW/299 PS. The electric motor channel power to all four wheels – a first in the ID. family. The power unit features an intelligent drive management system that can propel the car from 0-100 kmph in just 6.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 180 kmph. The 77 kWh battery pack is capable of delivering a range of 480 km on a single charge and comes with a maximum charging capacity of 125 kW.
