German marque, Volkswagen, has launched the Polo facelift in India at prices starting from Rs. 4.99 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
The facelift Polo comes with some design changes both, on the interiors as well as on the exteriors. On the exterior front, the facelift gets a new front grille with a chrome strip at the base, redesigned headlamps, redesigned front bumpers with bigger air dams with chrome inserts and different fog lamps with cornering functionality, redesigned tail lamps, redesigned rear bumper with reflectors, different number plate housing and new 15″ alloy wheels for the top spec variant. The car also gets a couple of new body colours.
Interiors of the facelift Polo get a new multi-function steering wheel with piano black finish, centre console with silver inserts and new seat fabrics.
All facelift Polo variants get dual front airbags and ABS, except for the base variant.
The Polo petrol continues with the previous 1.2L, 74 BHP, 3-cylinder engine, however, the Polo diesel gets a new 1.5L, 89 BHP & 230 Nm, 4-cylinder engine. Both the engines are mated to a 5-sped gearbox.
Enthusiasts still get the GT variants with additional power and tech. The Polo GT TSI comes powered by a 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 104 BHP & 175 Nm mated to the butter smooth 7-speed DSG transmission. The Polo GT TDI comes powered by the same 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel engine, but now produces 104 BHP @ 250 Nm mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The GT variants along with a facelift Cross Polo are expected to be launched sometime later though.
