Volkswagen partners with Zoomcar, 200 Polo cars to be shared

One of the leading carmakers in Europe, Volkswagen has partnered with India’s first and largest self-drive platforms Zoomcar to offer a subscription-based model targeted towards young, urban customers who are looking for flexibility, convenience and accessibility to a host of products. A total of 200 Volkswagen Polo cars will be used under this initiative.

The new partnership is looking at the shared mobility model under Zoomcar’s ZAP model. The ZAP model allows subscribers an option to drive any car for the period of 6, 12, 24, 36 months at a monthly subscription cost with zero down payment, zero maintenance, zero insurance cost and 24×7 roadside assistance. 

Zoomcar will now be offering the Volkswagen Polo with the brand’s association and under this partnership, Volkswagen will offer Zoomcar customised financial maintenance and repair services.

The Volkswagen Polo that is offered on Zoomcar’s website is the petrol-powered Polo in trendline trim variant which is powered by a naturally aspirated 999cc MPI 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 76 PS of power @ 6200 RPM and 95 Nm of torque @ 3000-4300 RPM coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The interiors of the Polo Trendline include high-quality, scratch-resistant dashboard, black and grey interior theme, moonstone finish on front-centre console, sporty flat-bottom steering wheel design, storage compartment in front doors including holders for cups and 1.5-litre bottles, front centre console including a charging outlet, etc.

The car also gets safety features such as dual-front airbags, driver and passenger side, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), 3-point front seat belts, rear outer seat belts, lap belt in the middle, height-adjustable head restraints, front and rear, etc.

The Volkswagen Polo cars will now be available under Zoomcar’s ZAP Subscribe model across select cities in India.
