Volkswagen ID.3 EV bookings to open in Europe

Just after a month after Volkswagen started accepting orders from pre-bookers on its first-generation carbon neutral 100% electric car, the Volkswagen ID.3, the German car manufacturer has opened the ordering system for the public starting from 20th July 2020 in Europe. Customers from various European countries will be able to book the Volkswagen ID.3 that comes in the form of 7 pre-configured models via Volkswagen dealerships. Customers will also be able to order the appropriate charging equipment from 20th July onwards, to be used with the electric vehicle. 

The Volkswagen ID.3 EV is offered in – Life, Style, Business, Family, Tech,  Max and these six out of the seven variant can be ordered from 20th of July and are based on the basic model ID.3 ProPerformance with a 58 kWh battery (net battery energy content) for a range of up to 420 km (WLTP). The ID.3 comes with a 150 kW rear-wheel drive electric motor that punches out 310 Nm of torque that can accelerate the car from 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. 

Volkswagen will start deliveries on the ID.3 EV starting from October 2020 and customers will receive free of charge updates for the AppConnect and the distance feature of the augmented reality head-up display for the “Tech” and “Max” models. All models that will be delivered in the Q1 of 2021 will come updated will all the functions. 

Without optional equipment, the ID.3 ProPerformance costs EUR 35,574 and further trim levels such as the ID.3 “Life” is priced at EUR 37,787, the Style at EUR 40,946, Business at EUR 41,287, Family at EUR 42,305, Tech at EUR 44,810 and the Max trim priced at EUR 43,682. The seventh ‘Tour’ long-range model with 550km of range (WLTP) can also be ordered starting from EUR 40,936 and goes up to EUR 45,917

The brand has also announced that all the seven Volkswagen ID.3 model are eligible for a maximum state subsidy of EUR 9,480 granted as an environmental bonus in Germany. The subsidies on electric vehicles are also available in many other European countries.
