Volkswagen launches Taigun First Anniversary Edition in India

Volkswagen India is celebrating the successful one-year completion of the Taigun in India with the introduction of the First Anniversary Edition. The Taigun has quickly risen the ranks and is the most awarded SUV in 2021-2022. So far, the VW has received over 40,000 customer orders for the Taigun. Despite the ongoing supply chain issues, the brand has successfully delivered over 22,000 units of the SUV.

Volkswagen Taigun First Anniversary Edition – Variants, Price & Colour Options

Volkswagen is offering the First Anniversary Edition on the Dynamic Line, Topline variants available with the 1.0-litre TSI MT and AT. Pricing for the First Anniversary Edition starts at INR 15,39,900 ex-showroom for the manual. Meanwhile, the automatic Topline AT variant costs INR 16,89,900 ex-showroom.

The Volkswagen Taigun First Anniversary Edition is available in a total of 3 colour options. These are – Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red and a new Rising Blue colour option.

Volkswagen Taigun First Anniversary Edition – What’s New?

The anniversary edition of the Taigun comes in a new vibrant colour option, Rising Blue. It gets “1st” anniversary badging across the exterior. On the outside, it gets C-pillar graphics, door edge protectors, window visors, black ORVM caps and high lux fog lamps. Apart from this, it continues with the two-slat grille, dual-tone roof and 17-inch alloy wheels. Like on the exterior, the interior also gets “1st” anniversary badging as well as aluminium pedals. 

Volkswagen Taigun First Anniversary Edition – Powertrain

The anniversary edition of the Taigun gets no mechanical changes. However, it is only available with the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine. The engine makes 115 PS of power from 5,000 rpm to 5,500 rpm and 178 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm to 4,500 rpm. The engine is available either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The automatic variant also gets paddle shifters.
