Volkswagen is introducing the new Polo Comfortline TSI Automatic trim in the Indian market. The new variant comes with a price tag of INR 8.51 lakh ex-showroom, India. The brand has also started accepting bookings for the Volkswagen Polo Comfortline TSI AT via the Volkswagen India website. Prospective customers can also book the Polo Comfortline TSI AT by visiting the nearest Volkswagen dealership as per the state lockdown guidelines.
The Volkswagen Polo Comfortline TSI AT comes with auto-climatronic air-conditioning and a trim specific 17.7 cm Blaupunkt music system. The car will employ Volkswagen globally acclaimed 1.0-litre TSI engine with an automatic transmission. Volkswagen will also offer Flash Red, Sunset Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver & Carbon Steel colour options on the Volkswagen Polo CL TSI AT.
Powering the Volkswagen Polo is a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder in-line turbo-petrol motor from the EA 211 engine family. The efficient yet powerful engine pumps out 110 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. In other Volkswagen Polo models, this engine also comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. But the Volkswagen Polo CL TSI AT comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Volkswagen claims that the engine can return a fuel efficiency of 18.24 km/l on the manual transmission and 16.47 km/l on the automatic transmission version.
Volkswagen has been marketing the Polo in the Indian market for more than a decade now. During the time, Volkswagen has upgraded the fifth-generation Polo with mild updates and, of course, the BS6-compliant engines. But in the international market, the sixth-generation Polo had already made its debut in 2017. The brand has also given the Polo in the global market a mid-cycle facelift, but the model has not made its debut in the Indian market yet.
Rumours are that the pre-facelift model will come to India sometime in 2022. currently, Volkswagen is busy with the SUVW strategy for India, which includes the launch of four SUVs in the Indian market. This consists of the Taigun, T-Roc, Tiguan and the Tiguan Allspace.
