Volkswagen India sales grow by 32% in July 2023

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has reported an impressive 31 per cent growth in sales performance for July 2023 compared to July 2022. This surge is primarily attributed to the strong demand for its India 2.0 product lineup. This includes the likes of Taigun, Virtus, and the flagship SUVW Tiguan. The brand’s consistent momentum is establishing new industry benchmarks and exciting customers with innovative products and variant choices. Additionally, Volkswagen is also working diligently to expand its network, enhancing accessibility for its customers across India.

In the first half of the year, Volkswagen introduced a range of new variants. The highly talked about was the GT Plus Manual for the Virtus and Taigun, as well as the GT DSG for both models. The brand also unveiled the GT Edge Collection, which has garnered remarkable demand from customers.

Volkswagen India Growth Story

Volkswagen India is on a growth trajectory, evident from the enduring popularity of the Taigun and Virtus. The company also highlighted the unwavering trust customers place in the brand due to its German-engineered vehicles that provide a safe yet fun driving experience. The objective moving forward is to solidify Volkswagen as the preferred mobility provider for all customers.

Notably, the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus have garnered an impressive array of awards. The Taigun received over 20 awards and the Virtus received more than 14 awards from prominent Indian automotive media publications. Both carlines have also secured a prestigious 5-star Global NCAP (GNCAP) rating for adult and child occupant protection.

Volkswagen’s Strategic Expansion

Beyond the success of the product portfolio, Volkswagen’s strategic expansion of its network has gained traction in various Indian states, including Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Telangana, and Delhi NCR. This approach aligns with the brand’s commitment to providing comprehensive sales and service touchpoints to customers. With more sales and service locations set to be introduced this year, Volkswagen’s current network comprises 175 sales and 130 service touchpoints.
