Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has introduced the Virtus GT DSG. This will serve as the new entry-level model for the GT lineup within the Virtus series. The car retails at a price tag of INR 16.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Under the hood, the Virtus GT DSG uses a 1.5L EVO TSI engine. This engine features active cylinder cut-off technology (ACT) paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission. This combination enables the car to deliver a maximum power output of 150PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Moreover, it also boasts an impressive fuel efficiency of 19.62 kmpl, certified by ARAI.
In terms of features, the new variant offers a 25.65 cm touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with wireless AppConnect for seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it comes equipped with an eight-speaker sound system, wireless mobile charging, and My Volkswagen Connect Plus, among other amenities.
VW mentioned that Virtus has its popularity among Indian customers. Thus making it the most adored sedan in the country. Earlier in April, the carmaker had unveiled six variants of the Taigun and Virtus. Along with a manual transmission option for the Virtus GT Plus, featuring the 1.5L TSI EVO engine. Furthermore, Volkswagen introduced two additional Taigun variants. These are namely GT Plus MT and GT DSG. Then it introduced a new exterior body colour called ‘Lava Blue’ for all variants.
With the launch of the Virtus GT DSG, Volkswagen is aiming big. The target is to provide customers in India with an enticing entry point into the GT lineup. Thus, customers can now experience a powerful engine, advanced features, and a comfortable driving experience at a much affordable entry-level pricing.
