German premium car brand, Volkswagen is getting ready to launch the Volkswagen T-Roc in the Indian market on the 18th of March after the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace which is slated for launch on 6th of March 2020. Volkswagen at the Auto Expo 2020 unveiled the T-Roc SUV which will be positioned between the Taigun and the Tiguan in the brand’s SUV line-up. The Volkswagen T-Roc will be brought to the Indian soil via the CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) route under the 2,500 homologation-free car rule. The SUV is expected to be priced around the INR 20 lakh mark.
The Volkswagen T-Roc that was revealed at the Auto Expo 2020 features a two slated grille with a chrome bezel, LED projector headlights, a faux skid plate, lower bumper mounted fog lights, 19-inch dual tone machine finished alloy wheels, muscular wheel arches with black cladding, piano black ORVMs, wrap around LED tail lights and a classic ‘VW’ logo on the back which doubles as a boot lid handle.
The T-Roc on the inside, features a centrally mounted 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instruments display, trapezoidal air-conditioning vents, rotary air-conditioning controls, AC vents in the second row, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and premium leather treatment on the seats.
The Volkswagen T-Roc is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that develops 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The brand is likely to offer the T-Roc only in an Automatic transmission variant.
In terms of safety, the Volkswagen T-Roc will be offered with all the bells and whistles such as 6 airbags, ABS (Antilock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) ESC (Electronic Stability Control), tyre pressure monitoring system, a rear parking camera as well as other automotive industry standard safety features as part of its pack.
