Volkswagen India announces its price hike for 2022. The carmaker announced that the prices across its product offering would see a hike of 2 to 5 per cent. The exact price hike will vary from model to model. Interestingly, Volkswagen mentioned that the price of its newly introduced Tiguan wouldn’t see any hike. And thus, the price hike will be applicable for Polo, Vento and Taigun. The effective date for the new prices is 1st January 2022.
Volkswagen India mentioned that the increase in input and operational cost led them to take the decision. Furthermore, Volkswagen has also confirmed that it will soon launch its second product under the ‘India 2.0’ project. And this will come in the form of a sedan that will share its underpinnings with the newly introduced Skoda Salvia. The exact date is not yet out, but Volkswagen India hinted at launching the sedan sometime in early 2022.
With the growing demand for SUVs in the market, the German carmaker has launched a new range called ‘SUVW’. Under this, Volkswagen has launched four models, namely, Taigun, Tiguan, and the now-discontinued T-Roc and Tiguan-All Space. The new updated T-Roc has already made its entry into the global market. And given the car’s popularity in India, we expect VW to bring in the latest generation to Indian shores soon.
Since the launch of Taigun, Volkswagen India is registering a steady growth in terms of sales figures. For the recent month, i.e. In November 2021, Volswagen registered a total sales of 2,849 units for the SUV. Meanwhile, its cousin, Kushaq, only sold a total of 1,876 units. Taigun offers a perfect proposition for someone looking to buy a fun-drive SUV with a striking outlook. Alongside this, VW India is working hard to lower the service cost by providing an array of customer-centric packages. These include service value packages, extended warranty, roadside assistance and more.
