Vespa Rolls Out 19 Millionth Scooter

Piaggio which is celebrating its 75 years in the automotive market, announces yet another remarkable feat. The Italian scooter maker has now produced a total of 19 million units and celebrated the occasion with a GTS 300. This is the 75th Anniversary Special edition of the GTS 300 that rolled out of the Pontedera manufacturing facility. Vespa is one of the legendary scooters in the history of automobiles, with its presence in over 83 countries. Currently, there are three manufacturing plants spread across the globe. The original manufacturing facility located in Pontedera caters to the European, American and Western market. The one located in Vinh Phuc in Vietnam serves the East and Southeast Asian market. There is also one located in Baramati, India which is responsible to meet the demand in India and Nepal.

75th Anniversary Edition Of Vespa GTS

To celebrate the special achievement of being in the automotive market for 75 years, Piaggio announced a special edition of GTS. The Vespa GTS 75th Anniversary is available with 3 engine options, 50cc, 125cc and 300cc. Piaggio is using special touches to make the scooter distinguishable from the regular one. The most striking part is the use of the metallic yellow paint called, ‘Giallo 75th’. This shade is a tribute to the original Vespa launched back in 1946. There’s a special badging in the front glove box which reflects the brand’s 75 years of existence. Along with these, Piaggio is also using chrome on the rear-view mirror, exhaust muffler, front mudguard and instrument cluster thus making it a definite head-turner in the traffic. The diamond-cut alloys finished in grey enhance the outlook of the scooter to a whole new level.
