Volkswagen will launch the Vento with a new 1.5L diesel motor on 24th September, 2014. This new engine has already made it’s market debut with the Polo facelift and now, VW will plonk the same unit in the Vento as well. This new 1.5L motor is a scaled down version of the outgoing 1.6L TDI unit. The engine will now produce 104 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque.
Exteriors should get a few cosmetic changes such as revised headlamps, new front grille, revised front bumper, new alloy wheels, revised tail lamps etc. Also, on the inside, expect VW to add the silver finished centre console as seen on the Polo facelift.
Volkswagen will also offer a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission along with a 5-speed manual gearbox on this new motor. If rumours are true, the Vento will be the second car after the Hyundai Verna to be offered in a diesel + automatic option.
VW will also offer a 1.6L MPI petrol motor coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 1.2L TDi motor mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
