Upcoming TVS electric bike – What to expect?
The design images showcase that the upcoming motorcycle will use the parts and chassis layout inspired by the TVS RTE race motorcycle. This could very well be a premium motorcycle that will debut the Chennai-based brand in the premium EV world.
While TVS has garnered experience in the EV segment with its iQube Electric scooter, the premium e-bike segment remains untouched as of now. The primary player in this segment is Ultraviolette, which has followed the top-down product strategy.
Similarly, TVS will also debut this e-bike as a premium product, and later, it will introduce more affordable and mass-market e-motorcycles.
Speaking of the leaked design images, it is visible that the motorcycle will be suspended on a main frame, which also houses twin battery packs, one on each side. However, these batteries shall not be removable.
Moreover, a sub-frame design is seen bolted to the main frame, thus providing the strength and agility required for the product to perform. This sub-frame design is identical to the RTE race bike, which TVS uses in its one-make championship.
Considering that it will be a premium product, the design is likely to be that of a sportsbike or an aggressive naked/semi-faired electric motorcycle. As of now, details like the launch timeline, range, and specs are unknown.
We can expect more critical details to be revealed in the coming months.

Our verdict
TVS has been aiming to enter the premium electric two-wheeler segment for a long time. In fact, its direct rival, Royal Enfield, has already shown its first-ever retro electric bike called Flying Fea. We anticipate that the upcoming TVS electric bike will step in the same product bandwidth as the Flying Fea.
