Maruti Suzuki e Vitara details, launch soon?

A video posted by a YouTube account recently shows a blue colour e Vitara SUV at a dealership. The showroom-ready model seems to have reached the dealer recently for display purposes.

Mind you, the e Vitara is going to be the first electric vehicle from the brand globally. It was unveiled in India during the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

It is based on the Heartect-e platform, which has been derived from the sturdy and potent Grand Vitara model. The e Vitara will be longer than the 4-meter mark, and it will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV.

Powering the e Vitara will be two battery options: 49 kWh (FWD) and 61 kWh (FWD/AWD). The maximum driving range for the long-range version is 428 km (WLTP-claimed).

On the outside, it features LED projector headlights, 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, connected LED taillights, and more. The cabin design is also unique on the e Vitara as it is equipped with a new dashboard, a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a connected screen display, wireless phone connectivity, panoramic sunroof, and more.

The e Vitara will offer the latest safety features like 7 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, hill hold and hill descent assist, ABS+ESP, etc.

The expected launch timeline for the e Vitara in India is June 2025, with an estimated price range of Rs 20-25 lakh.

Our conclusion

The e Vitara will not only become the first electric Maruti car in India, but it will also solidify a strong base for more affordable and practical EVs in future from Maruti Suzuki. Additionally, it will rival the pre-established names, including the Creta moniker.
