The upcoming Grand Vitara 7-seater model test mule duo has been spotted on a test run yet again. The spy shots that have surfaced this time are more clear and provide more details about the upcoming car.

The first thing that is obvious, it its long wheelbase and bigger size than the rivals. Moreover, the heavily camouflaged exteriors slightly reveal the new front fascia with new LED headlights and LED foglights.

The test mules also happen to be using an ADAS camera mounted behind the IRVM on the windshield. It also has a new alloy wheels design and a connected LED taillight setup.

Online rumours also hint that the 7-seater model will get advanced features like a powered tailgate and captain seats with leg support. Additionally, we expect it to get a redesigned cabin that will look identical to the upcoming e Vitara EV.

Powering the 7-seater Grand Vitara will be the current engine options that include a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated K15C petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid engine. Maruti will offer these powertrain options with the choices of manual and automatic transmissions.

Speaking of the price tag, the 7-seater model will be positioned well above Rs 1 lakh or more than the current Grand Vitara. Moreover, it can possibly debut either by this year’s end or in early 2026.

Since Maruti and Toyota are in a mutual partnership, we anticipate a new Hyryder 7-seater model to debut along with it. Upon launch, it will directly rival the Hyundai Alcazar and the mid-spec Mahindra XUV700.

Our verdict

The Grand Vitara SUV has proven to be a good product for the brand in terms of sales volume. However, it requires an update in the Indian market. Additionally, the non-availability of a 7-seater car will be covered with the new updated model.
