Ever since they revealed their range of bikes at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, there has been quite some buzz around United Motorcycles. Not because the bikes looked something extraordinary, but since the bikes are expected to be priced very competitively.
UM along with Lohia Auto (JV partner) are all set to launch their cruiser range of bikes by the second quarter of FY2015-16. The company is targeting to set up at least 50 dealerships at the start. The initial lot of bikes will have engines ranging in the 250cc – 500cc capacity. Three models, one 250cc, one 300cc and one 400cc are expected to make it to the showrooms this year. Within one year of operations, the company aims to launch at least 5 models in the Indian market.
Bookings for these bikes should be open by June 2015.
Pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs. 1 – 1.5 lakh.
What comes as a very commendable move, UM will provide a helmet as a standard accessory with their range of bikes. Apart from this, the company will have other branded merchandise on sale as well.
