Ultraviolette has launched its first-ever electric scooter in India. The new e-scooter is called Tesseract and it comes loaded with three battery pack options, offering a claimed range of up to 261 km per charge.

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker Ultraviolette has expanded its product portfolio by launching its first scooter, Tesseract. It is a sharp-looking futuristic design scooter that has been launched at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). However, for the first 10,000 customers, the introductory price stands at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is equipped with three battery pack options: 3.5 kWh, 5 kWh, and 6 kWh. The range differs on the battery pack chosen, but the maximum range offered is up to 261 km per charge. The e-scooter can also sprint 0-60 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. Its electric motor is rated at 20.4 bhp, and it can reach to a top speed of up to 125 km/h.

In addition to its futuristic design, Ultraviolette has also fitted autonomous safety aids on the e-scooter. It has features like blind spot detection, front collision alert, and overtake laert as well. Moreover, it gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Feature-wise, the Tesseract scooter is equipped with a colour 7-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity. It has different ride modes, navigation support, regen mode, and other crucial features. Additionally, it supports the Violette AI, which also features OTA updates.

Moreover, it has LED DRLs and LED lights that make it look stunning. The e-scooter also gets keyless ignition, hill hold assist, park assist, cruise control, music control, and more.

The e-scooter is suspended on 14-inch alloy wheels, a 200 mm travel USD suspension at the front, and a 180 mm travel monoshock suspension at the rear. Moreover, it has an underseat storage of 34 litres that can easily accommodate a full-size helmet.

The company claims that its deliveries will start from Q1 next year. It will be sold along with the brand’s first enduro bike, the Shockwave.

Our verdict

The launch of Tesseract has shaken the segment completely. Where the rivals like Ola were ruling the segment, the new Tesseract offers a fresh flair of design and features along with a promising performance and range.
