TVS sold 3,07,954 two-wheelers in March 2022

One of India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturers, TVS Motor Company, has announced its annual sales report for March 2022. The manufacturer’s document states its overall domestic sales for two-wheelers, international exports, three-wheelers, and fourth-quarter sales performance for FY 2021-2022. Overall the company registered sales of 307,954 units in March 2022 compared to 322,643 units in 2021. This signifies a decrease in growth for cumulative sales due to the shortage in supply of semiconductors, which impacts production.

Sales Report for two-wheelers, exports & three-wheelers

TVS registered a total sale of 292,918 units in March 2022 compared to sales of 307,397 units in March 2021. The company sold 196,956 units domestically in March 2022 compared to 202,155 units in 2021. Meanwhile, motorcycle registered sales grew from 157,254 units in March 2021 to 160,522 units in March 2022. Consequently, the brand registered 94,747 units in scooter sales for March 2022 compared to 104,513 units in 2021.

Along with this information, TVS Motor Company has acknowledged its careful optimism with regard to improving the semiconductor shortage issues. In terms of exports, the company recorded 109,724 units in sales for March 2022 across multiple global markets. However, it also highlights the dip in growth for exports as it sold 119,382 units in March 2021. Additionally, TVS Motor Company exported 95,962 two-wheelers in March 2022 compared to 105,242 units in March 2021.

When it comes to the three-wheeler segment, the brand registered sales of 15,036 units in March 2022. However, it has witnessed a marginal dip in sales when compared to the 15,246 units sold in March 2021. During the fourth quarter of the financial year 2021-22, the company’s two-wheeler registered sales of 8.15 Lakh units. However, it’s still less than the company’s registered 8.87 Lakh units of sales in the Q4 FY 2020-2021. Meanwhile, TVS’ three-wheeler sales grew from 40,965 units in Q4 FY 2020-2021 to 41,774 units in Q4 FY2022.
