TVS Motor Company is gearing up to launch a new 300cc adventure bike for the Indian market by mid-2025. The upcoming model, tentatively named Apache RTX, is currently in its final stages of development and is expected to fill the gap between entry-level off-roaders and premium adventure bikes.
The Apache RTX will feature a new sub-300cc engine, likely derived from the existing 310cc engine used in the RTR 310 and RR 310 models. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and is expected to produce competitive power and torque figures. The bike will also come equipped with LED illumination, wire-spoke wheels, and proper adventure bike styling.
The Apache RTX will feature USD front forks and a mono-shock at the rear, providing excellent suspension travel and ride comfort. Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends, ensuring reliable stopping power. The bike will also have dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
The Apache RTX will sport muscular body panels and a rugged design, typical of adventure bikes. It will also come with features like ride modes, adjustable suspension, and a fully digital console. The bike will be equipped with a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, making it a tech-savvy option for adventure enthusiasts.
TVS aims to position the Apache RTX between the Hero Xpulse 200 4V and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, offering a balanced mix of performance and affordability. The bike is expected to be the most expensive model in the TVS lineup, reflecting its premium features and capabilities. It will most likely compete with the BMW G310 GS
With the launch of the Apache RTX, TVS is set to make a strong entry into the adventure bike segment in India. This has been a long time coming since TVS already has access to the platform that the BMW G310 GS is based on. Though it will be the most expensive bike in TVS’s line-up, it could undercut the G310 GS.
