TVS Racing announces a new category for the TVS One Make Championship. This new category named ‘Rookie Category’ will see young riders between 13 and 19 years of age participate for the first time. This is an excellent platform for young Indians who want to get a first-hand experience of professional racing. The championships’ selection starts on August 14th, 2021, at Madras Motor Race Track, Irungattukottai. All the selected riders will get the opportunity to race astride on the TVS Apache RR200 at the sidelines of the 2021 Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship (INMRC). TVS One Make Racing is one of the highly anticipated races in the country, which includes both Open and Novice categories.
TVS Motor Company mentioned that they have designed a special version of the Apache RR200. Keeping in mind the ergonomics and requirements of the young riders, TVS has made some changes to the bikes geometry and suspension dynamics. This motorcycle gets a 197.8cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC engine matched to a 5-speed transmission. This TVS Apache RR200 also gets the racing livery of TVS and special component tires from TVS Eurogrip.
TVS mentioned that all the participants must be under the age of 19 years. Along with this, they must also carry Level-1 FMSCI certified training from any racing training school. The interested riders must register themselves at TVS’s Racing Rookie Talent portal. TVS is also conducting a Level-1 training certification, for the ones not having the certificate. This will happen at Madras Motor Race Track on July 24th, 2021. Interested riders can apply for the same by visiting the TVS Racing Training Academy Website. Events like these go a long way in creating a buzz for motorsports in the country, which is still at a nascent stage.
