Great news for motorsports fans, especially for the TVS Motor Company’s fanboys. In the recent PETRONAS TVS Racing, the factory racing team of TVS Motor Company brought in some exciting results. They concluded the TVS NTORQ NASA Monsoon Scooter Rally of Nashik 2022 with two podium finishes. This result will act as a major boost for aspiring motorsport enthusiasts in India.
TVS Racing’s Syed Asif Ali secured the title with a close finish. The race turned quite exciting as he took the lead in the 5 km final stage. Karthik Naidu from TVS Racing also made TVS proud. He made it to the podium after finishing second in the respective class and third overall in the competition. TVS NTORQ 125 SXR is the performance-oriented race-ready version of the street-legal TVS NTORQ 125. This result speaks of TVS’s heritage in scooter racing. Further, the win also talks of the scooter’s performance capability, thus resulting in the above exciting results.
As mentioned, the NTORQ 125 SXR is the race-spec version of NTORQ 125. In terms of visuals, there is not much that stands out from the stock model. But we do get the knobby tyres and the exciting race-inspired livery. But the primary changes are done to the mechanicals of the scooter.
Powering the TVS NTORQ 125 SXR is the same 124.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that we see in the standard model. But, the SXR uses a different intake and exhaust system. TVS did this particularly to enhance performance. The result is that the SXR gets an impressive power output of 20 BHP. In contrast, the engine on the stock trim makes around 9 BHP. With all these upgrades, the TVS Ntorq SXR can hit a top speed of 120 kmph.
