TVS Motor Company today announced the launch of their new product, the Apache RTR 160 4V. This is an all-new 160cc Apache and the motorcycle has been priced starting from INR 81,490 for the carburetor variant and INR 89,990 for the EFI variant with front & rear disc brakes. Prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
This is the most powerful 160cc motorcycle from TVS, and also, in this respective segment. TVS claims that this new product has been developed taking cues from the 6-time Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) winning motorcycle – Group B RTR 165.
Powering the motorcycle is a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, 0il-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve petrol motor producing class-leading 16.8 PS of power @ 8000 RPM and 14.8 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM on the EFI variant. The carburetor Apache RTR 160 4V produces 16.5 PS of power @ 8000 RPM and 14.8 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM. Both engines variants come matched to a 5-speed gearbox.
TVS claims that this motorcycle has a top speed of 114 kmph for the EFI variant (113 kmph for the carb variant). Coming with the best-in-class power-to-weight ratio, the Apache RTR 160 4V sprints from 0-60 kmph in 4.8 seconds (EFI) & 4.73 seconds (Carb).
The bike is based on the double-cradle chassis, comes with a rear monoshock suspension, telescopic front fork and styling similar to the elder sibling, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Braking performances comes with a disc + drum or disc + disc combination for the front & rear setup respectively.
In terms of what’s the highlight on the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, you get LED DRLs, alloy wheels, sharp fuel tank design, engine underbelly, chequered flag decals, kick starter, LED tail lamp, single contoured seat, fully digital speedo console, silver side panel and exhaust pipe identical to the Apache RTR 200 4V.
TVS will offer the Apache RTR 160 4V in 3 colour options – red, blue & black.
