The brands flagship motorcycle has now been updated to BS6 emission norms. TVS has launched the 2020 Apache RR 310 sportsbike in India with prices starting from INR 2.40 lakh ex-showroom. That’s quite a significant price bump, but TVS has now included a host of new features to justify the asking price. The engine on the TVS Apache RR 310 as we all know is shared with the BMW Motorrad G 310 R & G 310 GS motorcycles. The bike was first launched in 2017. The 2020 TVS Apache RR 310 is available in Racing Red and Titanium Black paint options.
Changes on the 2020 TVS Apache RR 310 include ride-by-wire, new 5″ vertically stacked TFT speedometer cluster with new UI /UX for easy interface, bluetooth connectivity with SmartXonnect and 4 riding modes which include Urban, Rain, Sport and Track. The brand claims that the riding modes will differ in the engine and ABS performance to help make a difference depending on the riding condition.
The new TFT display has day and night modes for the brightness setting which switches automatically based on ambient light and the system also offers turn-by-turn navigation along with sharing telemetry analytics data via the smartphone app.
Powering the bike is a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke and now BS6 compliant petrol motor producing 34 HP of power and 27.3 Nm of torque. The peak power is delivered at 9700 RPM while peak torque is achieved at 7700 RPM. The engine is matched to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slipper-assist cluthc and the bike also has the new GTT+ Glide Through Traffic Technology Plus feature which allows for easy riding at low speeds. The bike gets a dual-channel ABS system and rides on Michelin Road 5 tyres.
With the BS6 price hike, the TVS Apache RR 310 surely does look like an expensive product proposition and it remains to be seen how it performs in the sales department. Clearly, it is an ambitious project from the brand, but the bike is surely competent and the best effort from TVS till date.
