TVS Asia OMC RR 310 clocked 201.2 km/hr top speed

The first round of the TVS Asia OMC just concluded. It is the first-ever international road racing championship by an Indian manufacturer. And now, the race bike is also making history. TVS Racing recently achieved the historic landmark of crossing the 200 kmph mark on an Indian race bike. The factory racing team’s Asia RR 310 OMC Race bike at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia was able to hit a top speed of 201.2 kmph.

The achievement is a testament to TVS Racing’s constant efforts toward enhancing its technological prowess. These efforts also help TVS Racing maintain its leadership in the two-wheeler motorsports scene. TVS Asia One Make Championship 2022 participants ride sixteen specially-prepped race-spec TVS Asia One Make Apache RR 310 bikes.

TVS Asia OMC RR 310 – Technical Highlights

The company designed and engineered the race-spec RR 310 from the ground up. It receives a plethora of tech for uncompromised racetrack performance. The highlights of the race-spec bike are –

  • 312cc liquid-cooled 4-valve DOHC engine.
  • 38 per cent higher power output than roadgoing TVS Apache RR 310.
  • Titanium valves, forged pistons and HLHD Cams.
  • RAM air intake for better top speed.
  • Custom-built Ohlins adjustable suspension.
  • Dunlop soft-compound radial racing tyres.
  • Lightweight carbon fibre parts, which also include all bodywork, subframe and wheels.

2022 TVS Asia One Make Championship – 1st Round Highlights

The first round of the championship had 16 riders from 8 countries. Also present were three Indian riders, namely Deepak Ravikumar, KY Ahmed and Jagan Kumar. Thailand’s Vorapong Malahuan won the first race. In second place was Decky Tiamo Aldy from Indonesia. The Indonesian rider also set the fastest lap time of 2:28:477.

The second race saw Malaysia’s Muhammad Fitri Ashraf climb from 5th place in the first race to the top spot in the second race. He also set a staggering lap time of 2:27:433. However, it was a mixed weekend for the Indian riders. KY Ahmed and Jagan Kumar were inside the top 10 in both the races. Unfortunately, Deepak Ravikumar suffered a crash during the second race. Although, he has hopes to come back stronger in the next round.
