TVS Apache RTX could be an adventure bike?

In a strategic move to tap into the thriving adventure motorcycle (ADV) market, TVS has unveiled new plans. The company will aggressively venture into this space with the introduction of the Apache RTX. To this effect, the company has recently registered the name Apache RTX. This new bike will be built on the robust 310cc platform. It is currently utilised by both TVS and BMW bikes, including the Apache RR310, RTR310, and BMW G310R, G310RR, and G310GS models.

What to Expect from TVS Apache RTX:

The Apache RTX adventure bike is expected to feature a bold and aggressive profile along with its signature design language of Apache bikes. Key highlights include a commanding front fascia, LED headlight with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), golden Upside Down (USD) forks, a raised front beak, compact windscreen, layered shoulder panels, sculpted fuel tank, exposed frame in a contrasting colour, upswept exhaust and a rear rack.

The Apache RTX will be available in a captivating array of colour theme. It will sport a full digital instrument cluster offering a comprehensive range of display options. Riders will have the ability to connect their smartphones via Bluetooth. Thus will be able to access a plethora of features and functions via the TVS SmartXonnect suite. This app will enable users to access telemetry and data, allowing detailed analysis of their trip and riding style.

Performance and Technical Specifications:

Powering the TVS Apache RTX will be a 313cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that churns out 34 HP and 28 Nm of maximum torque. This engine will be paired with a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox. The engine will offer impressive performance akin to the BMW G310GS, which boasts a top speed of 143 kmph. Additionally, the Apache RTX is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of around 28 kmpl.

Furthermore, the Apache RTX will borrow several key components from the BMW G310GS. Some of these include a tubular space frame, 41mm USD forks, cast aluminium dual swing arm, monoshock rear suspension, 300 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes, and dual-channel ABS. The bike will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. The overall dimensions will closely mirror those of the BMW G310GS.

Like other Apache models, the RTX adventure bike will offer a range of accessories catering to adventure enthusiasts. These may include options for low and high seats based on rider height, a top case, heated grips, and a 12V socket.

With the platform already in place, TVS is poised for a swift launch of the new Apache RTX adventure bike. The trademarked name, listed as ‘Accepted & Advertised.’ This suggests that the launch is imminent, with an expected starting price ranging from Rs 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh. Adventure enthusiasts can eagerly anticipate the arrival of this dynamic addition to the TVS Apache family.
