TVS Apache RTR180 facelift details emerge

TVS had already revealed plans of bringing an updated Apache RTR180 by the end of this year. Now, the company has officially started uploading teasers for the upcoming motorcycle, which can be expected to be launched soon.

Powering the bike will be a 180cc liquid-cooled engine with turbotune technology and 4 valves. Teaser also suggests that the bike will now produce more torque, which will surely enhance city rideability. Another major change from the current crop is the addition of a monoshock rear suspension. It is a horizontally mounted unit and should help the motorcycle handle better than when on the previous setup. The bike will have optional ABS, which can be turned off by the rider.

New features include:

  • Liquid-cooled engine with a radiator
  • Horizontal monoshock rear suspension
  • Improved ABS system
  • Integrated racing speedo console
  • Side stand indicator
  • Parking indicator
  • Mobile charger
  • Astra gold chain sprocket
  • Michelin dual compound tyres

The TVS Apache series has it’s own share of fan following and these new updates should keep them happy till the new quarter-litre motorcycle based on the Draken concept makes it to the Indian streets.

Expect TVS to launch the updated Apache RTR180 at a slight premium, considering it does gain a few features over it’s predecessor.
