TVS Motor Company has introduced bluetooth connectivity in their popular Apache motorcycle. The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V now comes with Bluetooth SmartXonnect features and has been prices at INR 1,14,345 ex-showroom Delhi. This feature is available on the carburetor model with dual-channel ABS and will be sold in black and white colours. The bike will go on sale from October 2019 across India.
Also, another highlight on the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is that the bike will get a gold finished racing chain. This will define form with function on this popular premium commuter motorcycle in India.
The Bluetooth SmartXonnect allows riders to pair their Apache RTR 200 4V with a smartphone using the TVS Connect App. The app is available on Apple iOS store and Google Play Store as well. Once connected, the app will fetch data such as information of the bike, turn-by-turn navigation on the speedometer, call & SMS infomartion on the speedometer, lean angle mode, crash alerts, race telemetry, touring mode, low fuel allert with assist function, etc.
The Lean Angle Mode makes use of a gyroscopic sensor of the phone which records the lean angle of the rider, which translates to lean angle relative to the bike and this display is shown on the speedometer. The telemetry data shows crucial information for every ride or race on the speedo. With crash alert, a notification is sent if the a fall has been detected and within 180 seconds emergency contacts are also notified with the location of the crash.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V comes powered by a 197.75cc, single-cylinder petrol motor matched to a 5-speed gearbox with a slipper assist clutch. The engine produces 20.5 PS of power in the carb variant and 18.1 Nm of torque. The race edition as the brand calls it, comes with contrast decals and a small fly screen over the speedo console.
Rivals to the Apache RTR 200 4V include the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 & KTM 200 Duke but those brings liquid-cooling tech at a nearly similar price tag for Bajaj and at a premium with KTM.
