TVS Apache RTR 165 RP launched at INR 1,45,000, only 200 units

Renowned Indian two and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has launched the Apache RTR 165 RP in the country. Born from the brand’s high-performance racing lineage, the Race Performance (RP) Apache RTR 165 fits right into the brand’s portfolio. Being India’s first factory racing team, TVS Racing has over 40 years of experience and helped produce the new bike. Launched under the Race Performance series, TVS stated that it would produce only 200 units of the Apache RTR 165.

2021 TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: Design & Price

Priced at INR 1,45,000 (ex-showroom), TVS offers an exclusive look for the Apache RTR 165 RP. The bike sports a combination of White, Blue, and Red colours throughout the fuel tank, mudguards, and rear tail section. Combined with TVS Racing decals and stickers, the bike also sports a new seat pattern and red-coloured alloy wheels.

The fuel tank of the bike sports a blue pinstripe design along with a 15th-anniversary edition decal. Another highlight of the bike includes the ‘Racing Since 1982’ sticker on the ride side of the front cowl panel. Overall, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RTR packs a mean stance thanks to the beefy exhaust and handlebars.

2021 TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: Technical Specifications 

Powering the new Apache RTR 165 RP is a 164.9cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine with a new cylinder head. TVS has also ensured to equip the engine with a 35% enlarged intake and twin electrode spark plugs. Additionally, the engine now sports 15% bigger, Hi-Lift-Duration controlled camshafts and dual spring actuators for increased racing performance. Thanks to these enhancements and modifications, the engine now produces 19.2 PS and 14.2 Nm.

The brand has also revised the bore stroke ratio and equipped a new dome piston for increased engine efficiency. With the engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, TVS offers a new LED headlight that features the signature FPL. Riders can use the Front Position Lamp (FPL) in conjunction with the headlight to switch between a low or high beam. For enhanced braking performance, TVS has equipped the Apache RTR 165 RP with a segment-first, 240mm, rear disc brake.
