After the high interest and demand for the 2022 Gold Line Limited Edition, Triumph has now introduced a new Chrome Edition for eight bikes. One of these is the Scrambler 900, which is priced at INR 9,94,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Scrambler 900 Chrome Edition is based on the standard version with updates to cosmetic parts. The bike gets a fuel tank finished in Brooklands Green with a classic Jet Black paint stripe. The knee infills are finished in metal. The tank also gets Triumph’s triangle badges with metal detailing.
Other bits, including the mudguards, side panels, and the frame cowl, get the same Jet Black treatment. Interested buyers can also opt for the optional Jet Black high mudguard and a Brooklands Green fly screen. Triumph has also made available a dedicated Scrambler 900 Chrome Edition Accessory Kit for interested owners.
Other elements like the round headlamp, circular rear view mirrors, fuel tank, off-set mounted chrome fuel filler cap, dual split seats and tall-set exhaust have been carried over from the stock Scrambler 900. The bike gets wire-spoke wheels on both ends. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers with springs. Both wheels get a single brake disc.
The Triumph Scrambler 900’s rivals include the Kawasaki Z650 RS, BMW R NineT Scrambler, Triumph Bonneville T120, Benelli TRK 502 and the Ducati Scrambler in the Indian market.
The engine is a 900 cc, parallel twin-cylinder unit that is rated at a maximum power of 64.1 BHP @ 7,250 rpm and 80 Nm of peak torque @ 3,250 rpm. The engine gets liquid cooling, and it is BS-6 compliant. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed gearbox. The Scrambler 900 bike weighs 223 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.
