Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the 2023 update for its Rocket range of motorcycles. As part of this, the 2023 Rocket 3 R and the Rocket 3 GT get two new colour options each. Hence customers can now choose the Rocket 3 R in three colours – Matt Silver Ice, Silver Ice and Cranberry Red, and Sapphire Black. Meanwhile, the Rocket 3 GT is available in two colours – Carnival Red with Sapphire Black and Sapphire Black. There are no other changes as such. The mechanicals and hardware remain unchanged.
Both the motorcycles under this series continue with their iconic design styling. Key design highlights also include a win-pod headlight, bar-end mirrors, a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, rear tyre-hugger-mounted number plate and turn indicators, a single-sided swingarm, and wide-profile tyres. The GT trims get additional fitments like a flyscreen and pillion backrest, thus adding to the touring factor. Powering the motorcycle is the same 2,458cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit. It is also the largest engine in a production motorcycle.
The performance figure reads as 165 BHP of power at 6,000 rpm and a massive 221 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The equipped gearbox is a 6-speed unit. In terms of equipment, the motorcycle gets a full-colour TFT display paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth, traction control, cornering ABS, hill-hold control and four riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport and Rider-Configurable mode). The cons of this motorcycle are its heavyweight and price tag.
Both the models under the Rocket Series are available in the Indian market. The prices for the Rocket 3 R start from INR 20,90,000 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the prices for the Rocket 3 GT start from INR 20,50,000 (ex-showroom). With the update coming in for the international market, we expect Triumph to ship the latest updated model for the Indian market soon.
