British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has updated the India website with the engine exhaust note sound clip of the upcoming Triumph Tiger 900 adventure motorcycle. The Tiger 900’s listing on the official website is an indication that the brand is likely to launch the motorcycle soon in the Indian market.
The 2020 Triumph Tiger 900 was unveiled last year and the motorcycle comes in 6 trim variants – Tiger 900, Tiger 900 GT, Tiger 900 GT Low, Tiger 900 GT Pro, Tiger 900 Rally and Tiger 900 Rally Pro with ‘Rally’ being the off-road spec models and the ‘GT’ named aptly as the dual purpose touring models.
The Triumph Tiger 900 in terms of its styling, features an adventure style design with a front beak, sleek twin-pot LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, tall windscreen, ergonomic seats, 5-inch colour TFT instrumentation, upright handlebars positioning and optimised footrest positions for stand-over riding.
The Tiger 900 also features equipment such as a new mass-optimised trellis chassis with bolt-on aluminium sub-frame, new twin radiator set-up for improved cooling efficiency, Marzocchi 45mm upside-down cartridge forks on the front and a manually adjustable rear suspension unit, Brembo Stylema brakes, alloy wheels etc.
Powering the Triumph Tiger 900 is the 888cc in-line three-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 12-valve DOHC motor that produces 95.2 ps of power and 87 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate slip and assist clutch. The Tiger 900 comes with two rider selectable modes – Road and Rain.
The top-spec Tiger 900 Rally pro is equipped with 7-inch full-colour TFT screen integrated with My Triumph connectivity system, high-performance off-road spec Showa 45mm USD front suspension and Showa rear shock absorber, cornering ABS and traction control, off-road spec cross-spoke tubeless rims shod in off-road tyres, bi-directional quickshifter, heated rider and pillion seats, illuminated switches, tyre pressure monitoring system and six riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road, Off-Road Pro and Rider Programmable (customisable).
The Triumph Tiger 900 was expected to be launched in India this month but the plans could have been delayed to the May in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In the United Kingdom, the Triumph Tiger 900 is priced starting at GBP 9,500 with the top-spec Tiger 900 Rally Pro priced at GBP 13,100.
