Triumph Motorcycles has been spotted testing the Scrambler 400 X with cross-spoke wheels. The new wheels are tubeless, making it easier to repair punctures and enhancing the bike’s off-road capability. The overall design of the motorcycle remains unchanged, retaining its rugged look.
The cross-spoke wheels are expected to be offered as an accessory, allowing existing customers to upgrade their bikes. This move will make the 400 X more versatile and appealing to adventure riders. There are speculations that the motorcycle with the spoked wheels could be dubbed as the Scrambler 400 XE.
The Triumph Scrambler 400 X is a versatile and rugged motorcycle designed for both on-road and off-road adventures. It features a 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with dual-channel ABS and a combination of front USD forks and a gas monoshock setup at the rear for a smooth ride1. The motorcycle also boasts a 13-liter fuel tank, providing a good range for long rides.
The 400 X will be the second motorcycle in its segment in India to offer cross-spoke wheels, following the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The Bajaj-Triumph partnership has already introduced three bikes in India, including the Speed T4, Speed 400. We expect at least one more motorcycle to be introduced based on the same platform.
The addition of cross-spoke wheels to the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is a welcome upgrade. It enhances the bike’s versatility and makes it more suitable for off-road adventures. Existing customers will appreciate the option to upgrade their bikes with these wheels, adding to the bike’s appeal.
