British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph has unveiled a special edition for its Street Twin EC1 modern classic motorbike for international markets. Triumph India’s website has listed the special edition, which suggests that the bike will arrive in the country soon. The brand has not announced the pricing of the special edition bike but plans to launch it in December 2021. Triumph will offer the Street Twin EC1 special edition for just one year worldwide upon its launch. The bike’s special edition celebrates East London’s vibrant motorcycle culture, including youthful & modern hipster bikers.
Triumph offers the bike an exclusive Matt Aluminium Silver colour scheme and EC1 graphics for the special edition. Along with a Matt Silver Ice-colored fuel tank, the bike also sports a hand-painted silver coach lining. The bike sports 10-spoke cast wheels with machined details and twin upswept silencers to deliver an elegant yet contemporary look. Other unique design elements include a lockable chrome fuel filler cap and ‘Street Twin EC1’ badging on the sides.
Powering the Street Twin EC1 special edition is a 900cc, Bonneville, liquid-cooled engine producing 65 PS and 80 Nm. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, the bike sports a 2×2, brushed stainless steel exhaust system with dual silencers. Triumph has utilized a Tubular steel, twin cradle chassis for the bike with a dual-sided fabricated swingarm. With 18-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels, the bike sports 41 mm front forks and twin rear shocks.
The bike features a single 310 mm front brake disc with ABS and 4-piston callipers for braking performance. At the rear, the bike sports a single 255 mm brake disc with ABS and a 2-piston Nissin calliper. The bike sports a 765 mm seat height and 780 mm handlebar width for added rider convenience and comfort. Triumph has also added rider-focused features such as an analogue speedometer, and an LCD multifunctional display.
Launched in 2015, the Street Twin has been a part of customer customization as 80% of them showcase Triumph accessories. Out of the 120+ original Triumph accessories, the EC1 Special Edition gets an exclusive ‘Matt Silver Ice’ colored fly screen. This accessory item complements and enhances the EC1 Special Edition design scheme while completing the classic look.
Along with other styling-related accessories, Triumph offers other items focussing on protection, comfort, and practicality. Triumph ensures to provide a 2-year warranty on all genuine parts and accessories along with the bike. The bike features Rain and Road riding modes allowing the rider to tune the bike based on road conditions. Additional features include a handlebar-mounted scroll button for the menu system, an under-seat USB charging port, and an immobilizer.
