Triumph has officially unveiled the 2020 Rocket motorcycle variants. The Triumph Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT will also come to Indian shores sometime later this year, or by early 2020. The new Triumph Rocket 3 range rivals primarily the likes of Ducati Diavel, and is a performance cruiser model.
Triumph calls the Rocket 3 R as the roadster model while claims that the Rocket 3 GT is more focused for touring needs. Both bikes, the Triumph Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT look way different compared to the old model, and are fairly modern in their appearance, and bold too. The bike now gets dual LED headlamps in a round design, small front fly screen, bar end mirrors, split and step up seats, slash cut exhaust pipes, single-sided swing arm, pillion back rest for the GT model, different alloy wheel design for both the bikes, larger front windscreen on the Rocket 3 GT, LED tail lamps, digital speedo console and more…
Powering both the bikes, the Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT is the same engine. There is an all-new 2,500cc, in-line 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces 165 BHP of power and 221 Nm of torque. What makes these new Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT bikes special, is that they are lighter by nearly 40 kg compared to the old Triumph Rocket III. The Rocket 3 R has a dry weight of 291 kg while the Rocket 3 GT tips the scale at 294 kg dry.
At the front, both bikes have a full adjustable 47mm USD front fork and a rear monoshock with remote preload adjustment at the rear, both of which are sourced by Showa. The bike runs dual 320mm disc brakes at the front and a single 300mm disc at the rear.
The digital speedo console on the Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT is bluetooth enabled. Other electronic features include 4 riding modes, traction control, hill hold and cornering ABS.
