Triumph just unveiled the 2021 Scrambler 1200 XC & XE in the international market. Along with the new Scrambler 1200, the brand also introduced the Steve McQueen edition Scrambler 1200. The brand will only produce 1000 units of the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen Edition. Triumph also announces that each special edition model will come with a crafted billet-machined handlebar clamp, laser-etched with Steve McQueen’s signature.
The new Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition commemorates the history of the movie star, stunt and motorcycle. The special-edition motorcycle will be in the Scrambler 1200 XE guise and come with an exclusive Steve McQueen paint scheme. The special edition motorcycle also features high-specification equipment giving it ‘Go-Anywhere’ capabilities and features a selection of premium Scrambler accessories, fitted as standard. This makes the McQueen Edition, the highest specification Scrambler 1200 ever.
The McQueen edition draws inspiration from the original competition-spec Triumph TR6. The TR6 is famous for its barbed wire jump in the 1963 Second World War classic movie “The Great Escape”. Triumph developed the motorcycle in partnership with the McQueen family and comes with Steve’s son, Chad McQueen’s signature on the unique certificate of authenticity. The certificate of authenticity also features the VIN number and signatures of Triumph’s CEO, Nick Bloor.
The motorcycle features a Competition Green tank with brushed foil knee pads, hand-painted gold lining and gold heritage Triumph logos. The tank also comes with a Steve McQueen tank graphic, brushed aluminium Monza cap and brushed stainless steel tank strap. The motorcycle also comes with an aluminium high mount front fender along with a rear mudguard painted in Competition Green, as standard. The special edition motorcycle will also get engine protection dresser bars adding protection to the clutch and alternator covers. Protection is also enhanced using a laser-cut and pressed aluminium radiator guard with laser etched Triumph branding. The Steve McQueen Edition also gets a premium brown bench seat with tuck and roll stitching and Triumph branding.
