Triumph Motorcycles is reportedly planning to expand its 660cc platform with a new model, the Tiger Rally 660. This development comes after the successful launch of the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660.
The Tiger Rally 660 is currently under development and is expected to make its world debut in 2024. The company’s 660cc platform already has two motorcycles on sale – the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660. The addition of the Tiger Rally 660 would mark the third bike in this series.
Around four years ago, a digital rendering of three bikes was leaked onto the internet. Two of these have already been launched in India and other international markets. The third motorcycle, which bears a silhouette of the Tiger ADV, leads to speculation that the 660cc version of the Tiger is likely to be unveiled this year.
The Tiger Rally 660 will get the same 660cc, in-line three-cylinder motor that the Trident and the Tiger Sport get. However, the tuning might change to suit the ADV nature of the motorcycle. In its current state, the engine makes 80 bhp of power and 60 Nm of torque. We expect the Rally to have a better low and mid-range performance. For the wheels, we could see 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel configuration with spokes. The seat height can be up to 855 mm with adjustments available. The bike will also get multiple riding modes including the Rally mode for this specific model. As far as the design is concerned, expect it to be heavily inspired by the Rally 900.
The middleweight adventure bike segment currently has a significant void. The introduction of motorcycles like the Triumph Tiger Rally 660 could revolutionize the segment. A motorcycle of this nature is much needed in the Indian market, where there’s a massive lack of such motorcycles. However, for it to be a success, the pricing should be competitive. Considering the Tiger Sport is priced at ₹9.5 lakh, we can expect the Rally to be priced around ₹10-10.5 lakh.
The Triumph Tiger Rally 660 is a highly anticipated addition to Triumph’s 660cc platform. Its potential unveiling at the 2024 EICMA Show has sparked excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts. As we await further details, it’s clear that the Tiger Rally 660 could be a game-changer in the middleweight adventure bike segment.
