Triumph launches Thunderbird LT at Rs. 15.75 lakh

Triumph has launched the Thunderbird LT in India at a price of Rs. 15.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

LT stands for Light Tourer. The bike is basically an easy to live with, tourer friendly version of the bigger Thunderbird Storm. The Thunderbird LT gets a tall windscreen, spoke wheels with white wall radial on tyres, pillion seat backrest, leather saddlebags, two auxiliary lamps, 22L fuel tank, electronic immobiliser, split seats, typical wide handlebar, dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the back and lots of chrome. The bike is available in three colours – Blue, white & red and black.

Powering the Thunderbird LT you have a liquid-cooled, 1,699cc, DOHC, parallel-twin engine producing 94 PS of power @ 5,408 RPM and 151 Nm of torque @ 3,550 RPM. This is the world’s largest parallel-twin motor on a production motorcycle. Engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and has a belt drive. The bike rides on a 150mm front tyre and a massive 180mm section at the back.

Triumph India has had a successful run so far and has sold over 835 motorcycles till date. The company has a total of 8 dealerships, and will add two more by the end of October in Kolkata and Chandigarh respectively. Triumph now has a total of 12 motorcycles on offer.
