Triumph launches SOS feature to call for an ambulance

Triumph has launched a new advanced accident detection and emergency alerting system, called Triumph SOS. The new accredited system automatically connects the rider to the nearest emergency services in case of an emergency. Currently, Triumph has launched the service in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, North America, Australia and New Zealand. The brand is likely to extend this service to other countries as well.

How Does the Triumph SOS System Work?

The Triumph SOS is a mobile phone application for both IOS and Android. The service can be used by any motorcycle rider but is free for the first three months for all Triumph owners. Regardless of the motorcycle you ride, the mobile phone application monitors key sensors in the rider’s smartphone to detect and validate an accident. If the application detects a crash potentially life-saving details of the rider are directly relayed to emergency services.

Triumph SOS sends the precise GPS location, direction of travel, bike details, and medical information to emergency services. This allows emergency responders to reach the accident spot as quickly as possible and provide assistance accordingly. The Google-Cloud hosted emergency alerting platform also includes an Auto-pause technology to prevent accidental triggering. This allows the rider to fully concentrate on the ride. It is also important to note that the Triumph SOS app does not record speed or telematics data or relays the same to emergency services.

The Triumph SOS is available for a rolling monthly subscription charge without a long-term contract commitment or cancellation fee.
