British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has launched the latest Gold Line edition of the Bonneville T120 in the Indian market. Priced at INR 11,79,000(ex-showroom), Triumph has launched the bike alongside 5 other Gold Line Edition bikes. Triumph has stated that it will produce the new Bonneville T120 Gold Line for a 1-year period, marking its exclusivity. By launching this bike, Triumph intends to showcase the hand-painted gold lining skills of its expert paint shop.
The two-wheeler manufacturer also states that the hand-painted gold lining skill takes years of expertise, patience, and extremely steady hands. Triumph begins the process by applying a two-colour base scheme where the meeting point between the two colours undergoes flattening. The process then continues with a hand-applied, continuous gold pinstripe by the artist via a specialized soft-bristled sword-liner brush. The painting process is complete after the application of a final clear coat of lacquer to seal the pinstripe.
The Bonneville T120 Gold Line edition follows the same design theme as its sibling, the Bonneville T100 Gold Line edition. This means that the Bonneville T120 Gold Line sports the same Silver Ice colour scheme on the fuel tank. The bike also mimics the Competition Green-colored inscription on the fuel tank with a hand-painted gold lining. Along with white and gold Bonneville T120 logos, Triumph offers an accessory fit Silver Ice coloured flyscreen for the T120.
The Bonneville T120 Gold Line edition uses the same 900cc, parallel-twin engine from its T100 Gold Line edition sibling. The motor produces an identical 65 PS and 80 Nm of torque whilst being paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike also features the same brushed stainless exhaust with twin silencers as seen on the T100 Gold Line edition.
The new bike’s suspension setup is identical to the T100, which are 41mm, front cartridge forks, and twin rear RSUs. The Bonneville T120 Gold Line comes equipped with a single 310mm, front disc with a 2-piston Brembo calliper and ABS. Triumph also offers a single 255mm, rear brake disc with a 2-piston, Nissin floating calliper, and ABS. Additionally, the bike sports a twin dial analogue speedometer and a tachometer with LCD multi-functional displays.
