Triumph Speed 400 : More Details

The Speed 400 has been developed in collaboration with Bajaj. The bike gets a modern design with some inspiration taken from the larger Speed Twin 900. The Speed 400 is offered in three colour choices – Carnival Red, Caspian Blue and Phantom Black. The bike starts from INR 2.33 lakh with a special price of INR 2.23 lakh for the first 10,000 customers.

Coming to the hardware, the Speed 400 comes with a 43 mm big piston suspension. This has a 140 mm of travel while the rear gets a mono shock. Meanwhile, the rear unit gets preload adjustment. The bike comes with 17-inch alloys shod in MRF Steel Brace tyres.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X : More Details

Taking inspiration from the Scrambler 900 and 1200, the Scrambler 400 X is a derivative of the new 400 bikes co-developed with Bajaj. This bike will be made at Bajaj’s Chakan Plant on the outskirts of Pune. The pricing will be announced sometime around October 2023

Keeping in mind its scrambler looks, the front wheel is 19-incher while the rear measures 17 inches. Both these are shod in dual-purpose tyres with 100/90 front and 140/80 rear profiles.

Brakes consist of bigger 320 mm discs at the front and the standard 230 mm disc at the back. Even the brake pedal is larger along with high-grip foot pegs making standing on the bike easier. For off-road riding, ABS can be switched off for better control.

Powertrain of the Triumph 400 range of bikes

Both bikes use the same 398cc, liquid-cooled engine. This motor develops 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with a torque assisted clutch sends the power to the rear wheel.
