Toyota – Maruti Suzuki Partnership in India

In India, Maruti is already supplying the Baleno hatchback to Toyota which is sold as the Glanza. For a while, the Brezza too was supplied but later discontinued. Now, the Ertiga is also sold as Toyota Rumion.

Meanwhile, Toyota supplies Maruti with the Innova Hycross and manufactures the Grand Vitara as well in its Bidadi plant.

This partnership has enabled higher volumes for Toyota while Maruti has gained Toyota’s hybrid tech amongst others. Further, The Invicto MPV is currently the most expensive car to be sold from Maruti showrooms, thereby benefitting Maruti’s image of selling only cheaper vehicles.
