Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has taken a significant step towards expanding its manufacturing footprint in India. The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Maharashtra to explore the establishment of a Green Field Manufacturing Facility at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
The proposed manufacturing plant is expected to be a game-changer for the region. Toyota Kirloskar Motor plans to invest around INR 20,000 crore in this greenfield facility. This substantial investment will not only boost economic growth but also create employment opportunities for local communities.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, strategically located in Maharashtra, provides excellent connectivity to major cities and ports. The state government’s support and conducive business environment make it an ideal choice for Toyota’s expansion plans.

The MOU was exchanged by Dr. Harshadeep Kamble (IAS), Principal Secretary (Industries), Government of Maharashtra, and Mr. Sudeep Santram Dalvi, Director & Chief Communications Officer, TKM. Distinguished guests, including Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Eknath Shinde Ji, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis Ji, and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Ajit Pawar Ji, witnessed this momentous occasion.
Toyota’s cumulative export contributions from India stand at approximately ₹32,000 crores, reflecting the company’s export focus. With this new manufacturing plant, Toyota Kirloskar Motor aims to further strengthen India’s position in the global automobile landscape.
