In the wake of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the country, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announces that it will cover the COVID-19 vaccination cost for its employees, their family members and contract employees. The employee will have the option either to reimburse the costs of the vaccination or get them free of charge at the company’s listed health care facilities. TKM has always put its employees’ safety first, in fact during the first phase of the lockdown, the company ensured that the employees got support ranging from critical health programs, priority doctor-on-call, mental and physical awareness and support from the local hospitals. The company also took measures that enabled the employees for paid leaves for the absence due to infection or quarantine. The recently launched Fortuner and Legender, are getting quite a positive response from the Indian market. No doubt, Fortuner has been one of the most successful products from Toyota India’s lineup, but there were some apprehensions regarding the price, as the top-spec Legender with the automatic gearbox retails at an ex-showroom price of INR 37.60 lakhs. But, it seems like the Fortuner is all set to continue to be the segment leader. For the month of February 2021, TKM sold close to 14,075 units which translates to a domestic growth of 31 per cent as compared to the same period last year.
