Toyota Kirloskar Motor announces the Vaccination Drive for all its employees, their family and contact members. This program’s schedule is from June and will go on till September 2021. A total of 16,000 people are said to be covered under this program. Toyota Kirloskar Motor will cover all its members for both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Along with this, TKM is also exploring options to start vaccination drives at the workplace. The company has tied up with leading hospitals that will help facilitate the vaccination camps. Since the start of the pandemic, Toyota has taken up a host of measures to fight Covid-19.
Toyota has also launched a slew of measures for its employees. Recently, Toyota had opened a hotline number wherein its employees can have details about all the Covid-19 related necessary support. Toyota is also providing its employees with a Covid care kit and other essential medical equipment. To help its employees fight the deadly virus, Toyota had extended its arms to arrange oxygen concentrators in shortage in the entire country. To ensure peace of mind for the employees and their family members, TKM has arranged medical insurance of INR 11.50 lakh to treat Covid-19 related ailments. In case of the unfortunate death of any employee, their family members will receive compensation equivalent to 3.5 years of wage.
For May 2021, Toyota posted a total sales of 707 units. The figure is relatively low due to the various lockdowns across the state. In addition to this, Toyota had also temporarily suspended the operations at its manufacturing plants, limiting the production. Soon, Toyota will launch an electric hatchback in India, which will have a lot of resemblance with the Maruti Suzuki WagonR. Rumoured to be called the Toyota Hyryder EV, this vehicle was recently spotted undergoing a road test. With no official announcement of the Hyryder, we are unsure when this EV will hit the Indian roads.
